A few things about your tutor…
Stelios Karantonas, a Greek jeweller with 15 years of experience, is driven and passionate about his artistry. His expertise in jewellery design and manufacturing stems from an extensive background within the industry. After receiving two scholarships and working as a freelance designer and maker in Thessaloniki and Athens, Stelios ventured to London to further explore and develop his craftsmanship.
Since 2015, Stelios has been imparting his knowledge to numerous students at prestigious schools in London, including VS Jewellery School, London Jewellery School, and the Online Jewellers Academy. Eager to share his love for jewellery making, he continues to guide students through various jewellery making techniques such as precious metal work, wax carving, silversmithing, and stone setting. Currently, Stelios teaches students of all levels worldwide. His extensive experience in teaching has established him as a reliable mentor, empowering students to explore their creativity and reach their full potential through expressing their very personality.
In 2014, Stelios founded his first brand, creating one-of-a-kind designs inspired by his Greek ethnic background and the rich traditions of mastery spanning centuries. At his e-shop “Stelios Karantonas” you can find his mesmerizing creations.
Stelios' distinctive designs and meticulous attention to detail have enabled him to showcase his pieces at international exhibitions in London, Paris, Athens, Munich, and NYC. He even received an invitation to participate in the ‘Beijing International Contemporary Metal & Jewellery Art Exhibition’ (BICMAJA).
Operating from Brick Lane, Stelios personally handcrafts each piece from start to finish, reflecting a deeply artistic design. His custom-made creations have garnered a loyal clientele and opportunities to collaborate with well-known names in the industry.
